Test Method
The sample is cast in shouldered rings and heated at a controlled rate under the weight of a steel ball. The softening point is the temperature at which the bitumen disks soften and sag downward a specified distance.

5) After Reaching Preset Temperature, You Have To Set Ramp Rate Of Temperature Rise Range From 0.1 Deg C To 9.9 Deg C Per Minute. After Setting The Ramp Rate, You Have To Press The Start Button.
6) Now, When You Detect Softening Point, Press Hold Button The Temperature Display Will Hold Until You Press Reset Button. The Hold Display Of Temperature Indicate Your Softening Point.
