Test Method
The sample is cast in shouldered rings and heated at a controlled rate under the weight of a steel ball. The softening point is the temperature at which the bitumen disks soften and sag downward a specified distance.


Conforms to the specifications of: ASTM D36, E28; AASHTO T53; IP 58, 198; NF T 66-008

5) After Reaching Preset Temperature, You Have To Set Ramp Rate Of Temperature Rise Range From 0.1 Deg C To 9.9 Deg C Per Minute. After Setting The Ramp Rate, You Have To Press The Start Button.
6) Now, When You Detect Softening Point, Press Hold Button The Temperature Display Will Hold Until You Press Reset Button. The Hold Display Of Temperature Indicate Your Softening Point.

Test Method: - This test method covers measurement of the ability of petroleum oils or synthetic fluids to separate from water. A Cylindrical Bath is made up of Glass with cylinder holder assy. to holds Graduated Cylinder 6 Nos. firmly with the clamps. A provision is made to rotate manually the Cylinder Holder Assembly which permits to locate the cylinders exactly below the blade of the stirrer. All 6 samples can be checked one after the other.

TEST METHOD :- Foaming of lubricating oils in applications involving turbulence, high speed gearing or high volume pumping can cause inadequate lubrication, cavitation, overflow and premature oxidation. The sample is blown with a controlled volume of air at different specified temperatures, including a newer high temperature test at 150°C. The resultant foam is measured at the end of each aeration period and at different intervals afterward. In the high temperature test, the amount of time required for the foam to collapse to “0” after the aeration period is also measured.
